Toronto Fashion Week Day 3: Fashion Talks with the cast of STITCHED and Dr. Alexandra Palmer

On Day 3 of Toronto Fashion Week, Donna Bishop kicked off two live tapings of the Fashion Talks podcast in the RE\SET studio. First, guests were treated to a sneak preview of the new television series Stitched, a design competition that tests contestants’ ability to think on their feet and invent under pressure. It stars fashion personality Joe Zee, ELLE Canada editor-in-chief Vanessa Craft and is hosted by model Kim Coulter. Guests sipped prosecco and nibbled on cheese and crackers while the trio chatted about the democratization of fashion and how the industry has evolved because of the proliferation of social media.

The last Fashion Talks podcast taping of Toronto Fashion Week featured Dr. Alexandra Palmer, the senior fashion curator at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), who chatted about the importance of Fashion and Textile Collections for museums and its visitors. “If you come out with one or two new ideas [after viewing a fashion exhibition], then the curator has done a good job,” Palmer said. You can catch her latest, work Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion, at the ROM now.
