Style Plate Spotlights Bloor-Yorkville’s Best in Food and Beverages During TFW

If Prada can bring its Marchesi 1824 bakery to London and Gucci can have an Osteria in Florence, why can’t Toronto Fashion Week serve up another edition of Style Plate?

TFW’s most salivatory series is back, in its third season now, for a bigger, better and tastier iteration starting September 1. Alongside other activations such as Style Art, runway shows, and speaker panels, Style Plate will shine a spotlight on the food and beverage experts of downtown Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood.

More than participating 10 restaurants and bars have created fashion-themed drinks and dishes that will help take the edge off a day of fashion (or cap off a fun night out!). Celebrating the best of Canadian fashion, mixologists from Yorkville haunts including Amber, Bar Reyna, d|bar, Figures, Sofia and STK have crafted special TFW-themed cocktails, while the talents at Cibo, ONE and Palm Lane have concocted both a feature dish and signature cocktail. Plus, if you’re a fan of bubbly, take note: Trattoria Nervosa will offer half price Prosecco throughout Style Plate.

Meanwhile, The Hazelton Hotel is going all out by partnering with William Ashley and Majesty’s Pleasure for an exclusive Toronto presentation of High Tea with jewelry designer Hania Kuzbari on September 4. The high tea is a throwback to fashion days past, when parlour-style presentations were held in private and intimate settings for prospective shoppers and members of the press. According to Kuzbari, who has shown at London Fashion Week, even the treats will be inspired by her bauble designs, giving new meaning to “in good taste.”
